Nigella’s XXXmas

Arriving back at Observatory Towers this weekend, we found some bird called Nigella working the kitchen. Turns out she’s a bit of a mucky bitch.

Another great video from Cassette Boy.

Child abuse is over!

The last few days has seen Facebook users all over the UK and beyond changing their profile pictures to cartoon characters from their youth. This screengrab from CNN came in on the Observatory newswire just hours ago. You did it, Facebook users! You bloody well did it!

The Beast known as Sandy Ravage

The Observatory are gamers, and from time to time we play with laymen and show them how it’s done. But this video may be on another level entirely.

Voiced by the spectacular El Presadore, witness the beast known as Sandy Ravage take out pretty much everyone on Modern Warfare 2. Fear Sandy Ravage, but also wet yourself with laughter at El Presadore’s amazing commentary.

Apocolypse… Thursday?

A smattering of snow reached Observatory HQ on Saturday but nothing had us prepared for the deluge that came on Tuesday. With the shutters closed and everyone in the emergency bunker, we could only guess what the weather was like, and how long the nuclear winter would last.
Finally, we received an update from a man on the outside.
The Forecast

The outlook was grim.

Tuesday Babe – 16th Nov 2010

With Tuesday, and the emergence from the hungover mist that is Monday, comes that horrific realisation that you’re pretty fucking far from the next available weekend. So much could happen in that time – zombie outbreak; a few new American Pie films; even advancements in human bionic implants.

But if it’s the latter, don’t worry. There’s always this week’s Tuesday Babe, Michelle Ryan to show us the way.

Tuesday Babe – 9th Nov 2010

You’ve battled through Monday and come out alive, good job soldier. But there’s still four days until the weekend begins again. Don’t worry though, The Observatory is here to help.

We’ll have a different Tuesday Babe to get you through this difficult time every week, unless we’re feeling lazy. To celebrate the phoenix-like re-birth of The Observatory we’re going old skool here – feast your eyes on the lovely Tiffani Amber-Thiessen of Saved By The Bell fame and try not to drool around any electrical appliances. It’ll be 5.30pm on Friday before you know it.

5 internet comedy geniuses

As Rik pointed out it’s been a whopping 5 years since the Observatory was active, but believe it or not, the internet hasn’t been a complete black hole during this time. Here are five people that have helped to keep the internet warm while we have been away.

Maddox

MaddoxMaddox has been telling it how it is since 1997, or 6 BO (Before Observatory). Though his updates are much less frequent these days he continues to deliver fresh, original content in his unique style.

Angry Video Game Nerd

Angry video game nerdThe Angry Video Game Nerd (James Rolfe) has more video games than you could fit into a teenage Asian kid’s wet dream.  His hilarious rants about the glitches in old Nintendo games have generated a huge and well deserved following.

Featured Work: The Silver Surfer

Egoraptor

EgoraptorEgoraptor is a talented animator who takes video game parodies to the extreme. His short, fast paced animations can only be described as mental and get funnier every time you watch them.

Featured work: Awesome Reach

David Thorne

David ThorneI only recently discovered the genius of David Thorne. David publishes his side splittingly funny correspondence with unfortunate victims on his website 27b/6. He is a true master of sarcasm and is well worth a look.

Featured work: Missing Missy

Cybersp0nge

CyberspongeCybersp0nge runs the popular and regularly updated comic website NSFW Comix. The comic strips and animations are rude, gross and therefore by default, genuinely hilarious.

Featured work: A family outing

The Stig Farm

These days, The Stig is known the world over and is probably almost as famous as the show that spawned him/it. Shame then, that the “mystery driver” decided to out himself and reveal his identity in a new book.

The boffins at Top Gear, not to be thwarted, have managed to spawn another tame racing driver on their Stig Farm, as you’ll see in the video below. Look out for the reference to Stig II’s book shenanigans…

…when Pee Wee runs wild on YOU?

Wow, it’s been a while. How you been? You look good. No, really.

Looking on the Wayback Machine tells us it’s actually been five years since anyone last posted at The Observatory. FIVE YEARS! That’s almost forever!

But let’s not dwell on that. We have important things to discuss, starting with the most surreal thing I’ve seen in months; the triumphant return of Pee Wee Herman.

If that isn’t strange enough, the pervert formerly known as Paul Reubens – returning to promote his Broadway show – has chosen a slightly odd platform to re-engage the youth of today. Hosting last Monday’s WWE RAW. Surely no one could predict this, and yet it’s exactly what you expect. Men in pants, a giant and Pee Wee Herman picking a fight.
